Zhu Wujiang, GPU Hermes title, Associate Professor of Jiangsu University. She is a member of Image Copyright Society of China, China Staff Photographers Association, China Women Photographers Association, Jiangsu Photographers Association. In 2022 and 2023, she received the honorary title of “Outstanding Zhenjiang Photographer”. She is also a contributing photographer of China Jiangsu Network and a member of GPU and Royal Photographic Society.

In 2009, she bought a Canon 40D camera, and in 2017, she got a DJI drone, which has now been upgraded to DJI Mavic 3. Over the years, with the guidance of my photography teacher, I have travelled a lot, made many friends and captured the beautiful scenery of my hometown and surrounding areas.

In 2015, when the photographic work “Fairyland” won the bronze award at the Dafeng Exhibition, I became more enthusiastic about photography. Since then, my work has been featured in local, provincial and national exhibitions, as well as online media. Several photos and essays have been published in photo newspapers and magazines, including China Photo News, People’s Photo News, Popular Photography, Photography and Video, Travel World.

In 2021, she started submitting works to international photo competitions, winning medals and honourable mentions, and had exhibitions at Pingyao Photo Festival, Lishui Photo Festival, Yixian Photography Festival and Photo Beijing.

In 2023, at the 14th China Photography Art Festival and the 5th China Sanmenxia Nature and Ecology International Photography Exhibition, the work “Grassland Domination” won the “Swan Lake Collection Award”, “Black Swan” won the Collection Award of China Photography Art Museum, and “Tiger Eye” won the Collection Award of China Photography Art Museum.

Colorful Jiangnan

This exhibition of “Colorful Jiangnan” presents the beauty of the four seasons, and three of them are drone photographs overlooking the culture and natural beauty of the water towns in Jiangsu, offering an unusual perspective to see the city.

I focus on photographs of idyllic landscapes, dramatic changes in villages, people’s well-being and seasonal festivals, etc., and present the figurative beauty, objective beauty, rhythmic beauty and geometric pattern beauty to the audience frame by frame, thus further renewing the sense of honour to love the motherland and the sense of mission to serve the people.

“Chishan Lake in Winter” won an honourable mention in the abstract category of the 2021 Sienal Photo Awards. The photo was taken of Chishan Lake in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. In winter, the leaves of the trees around the lake turn red, and from the air it looks like giant flowers are blooming.

“Spring is in full bloom” won the GPU bronze medal at the 10th Olympic Photography Circuit 2022, the photo was taken in Qianduo Scenic Area in Xinghua, Jiangsu Province. It is the time when rapeseed flowers are in full bloom, and many boats are bobbing in the flower fields of the water city, creating a breathtaking view.

“Summer Harvest” was selected for the Pingyao Festival 2021 exhibition and was photographed in Satellite Village, Shiyezhou, Dantu, Jiangsu Province. During the summer wheat harvest season, farmers work hard and are happy when they turn over the fruits of their harvest.

“Autumn Rhythm in Nanshan” won the honourable mention of the Budapest International Photography Award in 2023. The photo was taken in Nanshan Park, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. In autumn, a lake of blue water flows quietly, and the colourful flowers on both sides of the lake shine, and the view is indescribable.
