Yang Guomei is a member of China Photographers Association, China photojournalist Society, honorary chairman of Yancheng City Photographers Association. Over 1000 of his photography works, including elks and wetland scenery, have won various awards such as gold, silver, and bronze medals at national and international photography exhibitions held in 82 countries across 6 continents, including the UK, the US, France, Germany, India, Brazil, Benin, and Australia.He has held special elks’ exhibitions in the National Art Museum of China, Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, England and Cyprus.
He has published four special collections of elks’ photography, and Shao Hua, the then Chairman of the China Photographers Association, has praised him as “the first person in China to take photographs of elk”. Mr. Annan, then Secretary-General of the United Nations, wrote a letter signed by himself to express his appreciation for ” having such deep attainments and far-reaching influence on art.” In his thirty-six years of photography, he never stopping to “tell” the story of the Yellow Sea wetlands to the world, and become a cultural brand and friendly messenger of the World Natural Heritage Site for foreign exchange. He was honored with the 11th China Photography Golden Image Award by the China Federation of Literature and Culture and the China Photographers Association.
