Xu Ping is a member of China Photographers Association (CPA), earned distinctions AFIAP, GPU-Crown 2, Aphrodite title, EPSA, APAS, APVS from several photo institutes for his past years of photography career. He is also a member of several photo associations, China Copyright Association, Asia Belt and Road Photography Union, HSZM•Photographic Alliance, Vice Chairman of Dazhou Folklore Photography Association, research member of Dazhou Calligraphy, Painting, Photography Academy. He also joined the jury of 5th DPW Four Countries Circuit.

By the end of August 2021, a total of 1757 photos were published in Newspapers in China as well as competitions and accepted in 20 photography albums.. He won many awards, 26 of which wining the gold awards, 26 silver awards, 17 bronze awards, 108 honorable mentions,1580 acceptance etc. Works were accepted into the exhibition in more than 30 countries including the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Austria, Greece, Denmark, and Serbia. The most outstanding ones are the following ones: silver award at 24th Trierenberg Super Circuit in 2015, First Prize of China Ancient Architecture Photography Contest, The Collection Award of the First “Country China” Documentary Photography Exhibition by the Chinese Photographers Association, Golden Horse award in 2017, Gold Award at 16th IPA competition, Nomination for photographer of the Year, Top 10 Chinese Landscape Photography in 2018 and 2019, Gold award and jury’s choice award at 12th Daguerre Exhibition, Gold award at 1st Belt and Road competition, Golden Award Photographer, Huayi Cup China Top 100 Landscape Photographers, and 3rd Jinhuabiao Outstanding Photographer Awards in 2020,The 8th Golden Horse Award for Chinese art, Top Ten Asian portrait photography works, Golden Bull Award at China Photography in February 2021,Master of Film Arts Award at Golden Huabiao prize for photography in July 2021.

 

About the Series

Taiwan Ba Jia Jiang

Ba Jia Jiang originated from the Chinese folk beliefs and myths, and usually generally refers to eight members of the godly realm, four Generals, namely Gan, Liu, Xie, Fang, and four Season Gods He, Zhang, Xu, Cao.

The facial makeup of Ba Jiang Jun is unique. General Gan is painted with Octopus feet on his face, while General Liu painted red on one eye and black on the other. General Xie’s face is painted white with black bats spit out the long tongues and wears long hats, while General Fan wears a round hat with a black face and white eyes. On the face of four Season Gods, namely He, Zhang, Xu and Cao respectively painted with four animals, namely dragon, bird, tiger and tortoise.

In Taiwan, Ba Jiang Jun will often appear in the performances of folk activities or religious ceremonies such as City God, Mazu, Guan Dijun, etc., to express the folk beliefs of expelling ghosts and Demons and eliminating disasters and diseases through traditional cultural and artistic forms.
