Wang Wenwei loves the art of photography, and has been engaged in amateur photography art creation for more than thirty years. After the the art of training and education organized by Chinese Photographers Association and Guangxi Association of Photographers, as well as guidance of the teacher and the help of the photographer’s friends, Wang Wenwei has been practicing phogoraphy and managed to make some achievements:
In 2005, “The Sentiment of Fog” was awarded the Excellent Prize of the Fifth “Image China” National Photographic Art Exhibition.
In 2005, “That Summer” won the Gold Prize of the Seventh Photographic Art Exhibition of Guangxi.
In 2005, “That Summer” won the Excellent Award of the 11th China International Photographic Art Exhibition.
In 2010, “Drunken Li River with Colorful Clouds and Dreams” won the Award of Excellence in the 23rd National Photographic Art Exhibition.
In 2010, “Li River – Busy Transporting Passengers on the Golden Waterway” won the Gold Prize in the National Photographic Art Grand Prix of “Rhythm of Water in Zhuang Town”.
In 2015, “Light Boat Has Crossed Ten Thousand Mountains” won the Bronze Award of the Seventh “Beautiful China” National Landscape Photography Exhibition.
In 2016, “Ink Li River” won the gold medal of the 10th Guangxi Photographic Art Exhibition.
In 2020, “The Flag is Redder in the Mountains and Rivers” won the Award of Excellence in the 22nd National Art Photography Competition.
Since 2019, Wang Wenwei has been participating in international events certified by the International Federation of Photographic Arts, the Photographic Society of America and the Global Photographic Union, winning 33 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 4 bronze medals, 32 ribbon awards and awards of excellence.
In 2021, the international award-winning works exhibited in Pingyao International Photography festival, Lishui International Photography Festival, and Huangshan International Photography Exhibition.
From October 28th to November 6th, 2022, Between Mountains and Waters: Wang Wenwei Photography Art Exhibition was held in Liuzhou Museum, Guangxi, China.
In 2023, award-winning photos were exhibited at Lishui Photo Festival.

The land of China, with its vast mountains and rivers, has nurtured a civilisation that is constantly evolving and developing.
The magnificent landscape scenery is a beautiful picture scroll written by nature, which contains infinite beauty and poetry, and shines with the splendour of the wisdom and strength of the Chinese nation.
A wise man loves water and a virtuous man loves mountains. Therefore, landscape and humanities are inseparable. In traditioanl Chinese landscape culture, humans are integrated into a larger natural background rather than celebrated as a towering presence, fusing expression forms with various cultural phenomena, giving deeper cultural deposits, and cohesively integrating thousands years of Chinese culture.
Life is full of arts if you look at it with an artistic perspective, as life and art is tightly connected. Auguste Rodin once said, “Beauty is everywhere. It is not that she is lacking to our eye, but our eyes which fail to perceive her.” When we cast our eyes on life, nature and history, we will feel the spirit of life and the harmony of heaven.
Photography is an art of discovering beauty, telling a story with light. Through the lens of the photographer, the unoticed moments of everyday life were translated into something vast, warm, and subtle.
Mr Wang Wenwei, a native of Liuzhou, Guangxi, loves the art of photography and has been engaged in the creation of photographic art for more than thirty years, winning numerous domestic and international awards. Mr Wang Wenwei uses his camera to capture the beauty of the motherland, its mountains and rivers, as well as every bit of life. Through the language of photography, he recounts to everyone his inner world and pursuit of the most truthful, the most genuine and the most beautiful.
In Wang Wenwei’s photographic works of art, he explores beauty from a unique perspective. He records the beautiful mountains and rivers of the motherland in the form photography with the expression of traditional Chinese landscape culture, so that we can feel the author’s reverence for the unceasing life of nature and his admiration for the succession of the landscape culture. Mr. Wang Wenwei’s photographs render the profound and mysterious cultural colours between light and shadow with extreme beauty. By capturing various forms of mountains, lakes and seas and local customs, he conveys his thoughts and exploration of traditional and modern landscape culture, leading us to enter into the diversity of social life, to appreciate the traditional culture among mountains and waters, and to cherish the natural environment on which we depend for our survival.
Expressing love through landscape is to express the inner world and the freedom of “watching water like a painting, travelling mountains like reading history”. These photographs, combined with the cultural connotation of the times, give new life to the traditional humanistic landscape and express the author’s insights and views, which is a fusion of traditional landscape culture and contemporary photographic art.
Photography are the fossils of time. Every successful photography work will make its own voice in history, they are not only the most vivid record of the times, but also contain the temperature and emotion that cannot be felt in history books.
It is for this reason that we can better appreciate the greatness of this era.
