Steeve DUBOIS, 60 years – freelance photographer from the island of Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean.
I am married to Michèle MOSSES-DUBOIS and I have two lovely sons, Ludovic and Adrien.
I started photography seriously back in 1979, while still at secondary school. After the school years, I worked successively as souvenir seller to tourists, journalist (briefly), primary school teacher, cameraman at the national TV station, photographer in an advertising agency and copywriter in another agency. I have been working as a freelance photographer since 2002.
Photography is first and foremost my passion. I enjoy shooting all kinds of subjects but I do have a preference for Nature subjects. I prefer Black & White over color.
I am the President of the Cercle des Artistes Photographes (CAP), the only existing photographic association in Mauritius. I joined the CAP in 1985 and I have been an active member since. My association is affiliated to the International Federation for the Photographic Art (FIAP).
I am also a member of the Global Photographic Union (GPU).
I enjoy taking part in photo competitions, both local and international, and I have been quite successful at it. I have some cups, medals, diplomas, HMs and acceptance certificates.
I hold the following photographic distinctions :
EFIAP, GPU Aphrodite, ECAP, ESFIAP, ESCAP, Hon PESGSPC, Hon FICS, Hon FSWAN, Hon FWPG, Hon FPI, Hon CPE, GAPS
