Born in Siena, he got into photography while attending in photography while attending the secondary schools attached to the Institute of Art. In 1985 he joined the Siena Foto Club where he held various positions until becoming its president from 2013 to 2016. His images are part of numerous collective and personal photographic exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad. He dedicates to photographing mainly everything concerning the Sienese territory and the Palio di Siena, not forgetting other genres such as sport, reportage, travel. He collaborates with the Consortium for the Protection of the Palio of Siena in the realization of the publication “Scatti in Campo” published since 2013 and the Google “Grand Tour of Italy” project.

He teaches photography courses for students, organizations and associations. Collaborator of the magazine “Il Carroccio di Siena”, pictures of him have been published in dozens of books and magazines, both nationally and internationally. In October 2017, a photograph of him became part of the collection of the “Naiman Palace Museum” in Tongliao City in Inner Mongolia in China.

He participates in national and international photographic competitions obtaining numerous prizes and admissions. He is a member of the juries of photographic competitions
