Description of the series:
Life of Innocence
Semporna is the capital of the Semporna District in the Tawau Division of Sabah, Malaysia where there are many small fishing villages on the east coast.
At the end of 2019, I visited this place for the first time with my friends. I was stunned by natural beauty of the island!
It has the most warm weather all year round, the sheer joy of canoeing in clear water as green as emerald, let alone the island surrounded by white sand and coconut trees, as if in a fairytale.
What’s even more shocking is that the Bajau people still lives a traditional nomadic lifestyle without nationality, particularly those Bajau seniors and children who live in stilt house above water. They have no access to medical care or school education and live a self-sufficient life. Nonetheless, they are happy about their life.
The children play in the clear water; the old people, surrounded by their children, are basking food caught in the sea on small platform of the water house; the mother holding the child, rafting on the canoe.
Semporna is surrounded by nature, brave and tenacious!
Bajau people have been attached to the pure sea generations after another. They deserve the praise.
