The Plum, Orchid, Chrysanthemum, and Bamboo
The Plum, Orchid, Chrysanthemum, and Bamboo are called the “Four Gentlemen” in traditional Chinese culture, symbolizing the noble qualities of the ideal Confucian gentleman-scholar.
I combine these four plants with the model in the form of portrait photography. The most striking feature of each image is the use of bright colors. In these photos,
I try to bring out the quality that each plant represents, the strength of the plum blossom, the fragrance of the orchid, the toughness of the bamboo and the seclusion of the chrysanthemum, conveying an elegant and pure artistic atmosphere.
Each photo is a dialogue between man and nature, delicately and affectionately presenting the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.
