I am a retired high school educator, who had been teaching biology for the last 40 years.
My interest in photography dates back to my adolescence. The pictures that I have been shooting during those days were mainly of the ‘point and shoot’ type.
High school teaching is such a demanding career that I could not spare time for serious photography. I therefore put aside my film camera and concentrated much more on my career.
I resumed photography during the last ten years, with a digital camera. I don’t have a specific genre of photography. I make images of whatever captures my interest.
I regularly participate in photographic competitions. I am a member of the Cape Town Photographic Society, Photographic Society of South Africa, Canadian Association of Photographic Art, Langley Camera Club (British Columbia, Canada), Photographic Society of America, Global Photographic Union and Cercle des Artistes Photographes (Mauritius).
