Fan Jinhong, an amateur photographer, was born on April 22, 1963 in Gansu Province in the northwest of China, and has lived there for 30 years. He has a special feeling for the culture of western China and the customs of the original residents there. After retirement, he settled in Chengdu. Influenced by his father, Fan Jinhong likes to take pictures when he was a child. Because he of his major in school, he didn’t have time to practise photography, which is his favourite thing to do. After retirement, he began to pay attention to the cultural customs of western ethnic minorities, especially the Yi and Qiang ethnic groups. In addition, he have tracked and photographed the living environment of the residents in the ancient towns around Chengdu, Sichuan, and the tea culture of the old teahouses. Now taking photos has become a part of his life.
He is a member of the GPU and has Titles, GPU Crown distinction. He is also a member of Sichuan Entrepreneur Association, and Sichuan Artistic Photography Association.
Photos in this collection were exhibited at the 21st Pingyao International Photography Exhibition in 2021, the Lishui Photography Festival in 2021, and the 16th Huangshan Yixian International Photography Exhibition in 2021.
