About photos
“Who knows that every grain of food is hard work?” tells the deep meaning of farmers’ hard work for a year looking forward to the harvest and that every grain comes from the sweat of farmers!
This group of photos was taken in September 2012 and October 2015 in Huangyuan County, Haidong City, and Huangyuan County, Xining City, Qinghai Province. It captures the busy autumn harvest season, which is seemingly unremarkable. The subject matter in my work is often overlooked because people usually take it for granted.
Every scene closely relates to the farmers and the land they live on. Therefore, whenever I shoot this kind of film, I can’t help but recall my childhood and the scenes in the countryside.
In the vast rural areas of the north, such scenes during the harvest season give people a feeling of warmth and affection, and the earth gives back to the hard-working farmers a generous gift!
