Liu Changming, male, was born in Shengsi County, Zhejiang Province in 1953. He once worked for Shengsi County Cultural Museum as director of the visual art department, and later deputy research librarian of Qunwen. He is a member of the China Photographers Association, Chinese Art Photography Society of China, Global Photographic Union (GPU), Royal Photographic Society, Global Chinese Photographers Association of America. He now serves as director of Overseas Artists Association, Zhejiang Art Photography Association, Vice Chairman of Zhoushan Photographers Association and Chairman of Shengsi Photographers Association.
His photography career started from 1979 when he participated in a photography training course in Shanghai. In 1985, he was transferred to work in photography department of the Shengsi County Cultural Museum. By the end of 1970s, he started to create photography featuring landscape, life of fisherman, folklore and tradition of the island. Years of photograph experience cultivate unique photographic characteristics and style, which draws the attention of Xu Xiaobing, Hou Bo, outstanding photography artists of older generations. In early 1980s, his photo series “Landscape of Shengsi” included in publicity material to promote the natural beauty of the island.
As a veteran photographer, more than 3000 photographic works exhibited in the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Mexico, Austria, Turkey, Serbia, South Africa, Hungary, Russia, Greece, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Oman, the Balkans, Egypt, Norway, Cyprus and Iran and other regions, among them, the photo “Mad for Mud” landed him ten gold medals. He also published a photo book “Shengsi Landscape photography of Liu Changming” in 2002. He is also a recipient of numerous honorary titles for his great contribution to photography in his region.
