Ashane Marasinghe is a passionate photographer who was born and brought up in Colombo, Sri Lanka. By profession he’s a Senior Executive at an international airline.
His interest towards photography has been ever growing since 2013. He started with a short course in photography and completed the Advance Diploma in Photography in 2014 at National Association of Photographers, Sri Lanka. He bought his first camera in 2014 and started capturing the wildlife and nature in his own way.
His interested areas in photography are wildlife and nature, art, travel and sports. His priority, however, has always been wildlife photography. He has won several local and international awards for his photography. At Sri Lanka’s State Photography Festival, he has won the Bronze Award in travel section in 2016, the Gold Award in wildlife section in 2017 and Bronze Award in Opens section in 2018. The grand prize at Canon Photo Marathon which was held on 2017. He has also claimed the finalist award in Big Picture Natural World Photography Competition -USA 2021. Commended award in Bird photographer of the year – Great Britain 2021. He became among the finalist in Golden Turtle Photo Competition in Russia 2020 and 2021. Also won the 1st runners up in DJ Memorial photography competition 2020 in India. At various international photography events, he has won Gold Medals, Silver Medals and a Bronze Medals in addition to Ribbons and Diplomas from various parts of the world.
