After the huge success of our 1ST GPU VIRTUAL PHOTO FESTIVAL, WE RE-SCHEDULE OUR VIRTUAL APPOINTMENT FOR A 2ND TIME!
A few words about this effort…
Every 2 years GPU organizes a photo festival, in special places around the world, with natural beauty and cultural uniqueness. There, GPU friends meet each other, strengthen bonds among them, and practice their talent in photography.
The last one took place in 2019, in Maramures area, Romania. 121 attendees from 23 countries embraced this effort. The festival, as well as all the previous ones, was a huge success and friends gave promises to meet again at the next photo festival which would normally take place this year.
Nevertheless, the pandemic hit the world, and our lives changed. We were forced to adapt to new conditions which were not pleasant at all.
However, after the first shock, we had to re-organize our lives and continue to live. We in GPU decided that a real photo-festival could not occur under those circumstances, yet, we were not ready to abandon every effort. So, we decided that a virtual photo festival could be a good solution for GPU members to showcase their latest works but also to socialize, even though virtual socializing can definitely not replace the face to face feeling.
The GPU Virtual Photo Festival 2021 took place and the results were truly amazing. With more than 35.000 visits, more than 117.000 page views, almost 310.000 events (Page scrolls, clicks and searches) and everyone’s warm and positive comments we had the proof that everyone warmly embraced the effort.
Thus, we in GPU have decided that we should continue with a 2nd edition and host the 2nd GPU Virtual Photo Festival 2022.
As well as the 1st GPU Virtual Photo Festival 2021, we hope this 2nd one, will give the opportunity to GPU members exhibit their photos and to every visitor (GPU members and not) to learn about GPU, admire beautiful photos, get useful information about different photographic topics, learn about individual photographers and photographic clubs and get inspiration from them.
We truly hope you enjoy the 2nd GPU Photo Festival 2022 and we truly expect to finally meet you face to face next year in our physical 6th GPU Photo Festival 2023 in Kyrgyzstan!
